The Sedalia STING Unit arrested 28-year-old Juan Martinez on Wednesday night (Jan. 15) after he was found in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine.

According to a press release, the Sedalia STING Unit received a tip around 10:53 p.m. that an occupant of a vehicle in the El Espolon parking lot at 3501 West Broadway was going to deliver some methamphetamine. After securing the occupants of the vehicle, officers discovered that Martinez had concealed a bag of methamphetamine in his pants.

Martinez was taken into custody and searched at the Sedalia Police Department where he was transported to the Pettis County jail and placed on 24-hour hold. He faces state charges of drug trafficking in the 1st degree, delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
