Sedalia Police responded to a report of a report of a non-responsive woman in the 200 block of South Stewart on Saturday morning. The woman was discovered on the couch and pronounced dead at the scene by the Pettis County Coroner a short time later. The family was contacted and the body was taken to Ewing Funeral Home.


Michael Dean Burgess, 23, homeless, was arrested on a Pettis County and Sedalia warrants after a traffic stop at 19th and Lamine for a minor traffic violation. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and bond was set at $50,3000 cash or surety. A court date of July 20 was set.

Also arrested during the same stop at 19th and Lamine was Jimmie Don Curry, 36, of the 400 block of E. 27th, for DWI-persistent offender. Curry was held at the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges.


Thomas D. Church, 33, of the 1300 block of South Kentucky, was arrested on three outstanding warrants out of Pettis and Morgan counties on Saturday. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Total bond for Church was set at $2599.50 cash or surety.
Sedalia Police responded to a burglary report in the 600 block of South Washington late Saturday night. The victim told police someone kicked open his front door and stole a TV valued at $548. There is no suspect information at the time of the report.


Police took another report of spray paint vandalism Friday night. The victim reported that red paint was sprayed on his driver's side door in the 1300 block of E. Ninth.


Cosa W. Hoskins, 26, Marshall, was arrested for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at Broadway and Sneed early Saturday morning. Hoskins' court date is set for June 15.


And the Pettis County Sheriff's Office has reported thath Elizabeth M. Jones, Sedalis, was arrested on a marijuana charge May 16. Jones was released on summonses.


The Sheriff deputies also arrested Stanly Aisek, 36, of Pettis County, at 10th and Thompson May 21 for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
