Sedalian Charged with Assault After Argument Escalates

Ponciano C. Gonzalez, 26, Sedalia, was arrested after Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of S. Quincy just before midnight Tuesday.

According to the report, two people were arguing in a vehicle and the victim was attempting to exit, but was being restrained by the suspect. She later jumped from the moving vehicle. The suspect then drove up on the curb in an attempt to strike the victim with the vehicle. The suspect later went inside the residence and head butted the victim, the report said.

Gonzalez was charged with 3rd Degree Assault, Felonious Restraint and Driving While Suspended.

He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of state charges.
