Here's a look at what's going on in our area this weekend.

The La Monte R-IV Board of Education is hosting their annual soup/chili supper. 

It'll be held on Friday, January 16.It’ll be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the new gymnasium during the homecoming basketball game between the La Monte Vikings and the Smithton Tigers.  The Little Vikes Cheer Clinic participants will also perform that evening.  Dinners are $4 and include dessert, drink, and an entree choice of chicken noodle soup, chili, hot dog, chili dog, baked potato or chili baked potato.  Additional entrees are available for $2 with a dinner purchase.  All proceeds fund scholarships for the 2014 senior class.
The Animal Rescue Foundation will have a fundraising dinner.
Join ARF to honor newly inducted Baseball Hall of Fame Manager Tony La Russa at a food and wine tasting fundraiser on Friday, January 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Redbird club. Sample fruits of the vine from fine wineries and appetizers from local restaurants while you browse auction items.  Proceeds support ARF’s life saving programs and local rescue efforts.   ARF saves the lives of dogs and cats who have run out of time at public shelters.  For more information, visit www.arf.net.
The Cardinals Caravan is coming to the SFCC Campus.
KSIS Radio has arranged for the 2015 Cardinals Caravan to roll into Sedalia on Saturday, January 17th at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the State Fair Community College campus. The program for fans is scheduled to begin at 11:30am and there will be an autograph opportunity for kids 16 & under until 1:30pm.  Admission is free this year, but there will be special raffles of official Cardinals items with all proceeds going to benefit the Boys & Girls Club.
Rayah Ministry is inviting the public to join them for their meeting in the new year. 
Their first meeting of the new year will be held at the Community Building, located at 500 Welch Ct in Sedalia on January 17 with a starting time of noon. If you need more information, contact Grace at 221-3156.
Update:  The Chocolate Gala has been sold out.

Tickets are on sale now for the annual Cole Camp Chocolate Gala and wine Tasting event set for January 18.  
Ticket sales will be limited this year so you must buy in advance  Chocolates and various appetizers will be served, along with wine samples.  Door prizes will be given away and they will have a silent auction.  Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at the Handle Haus, Happy Trails Antiques and Sweet an’ Tiques in Cole Camp.  For more information, contact Dianne Simon at 287-7989.
