Kids, here's a look at some of the happenings going on this weekend!

The New Hope Baptist Church Youth Group will be holding a fundraising auction in conjunction with their spaghetti supper on April 6. 

All of the funds raised from this event will be used to support the Youth Group’s mission trip in July of 2013.  They’ll be going to West Virginia to help a small church reach their community and go to Washington DC to learn about their heritage of faith.  They are in the process of collecting merchandise for the auction, and if you’d like to donate you m ay contact Duane Duchesne at 660-826-6277 or email dnlduchesne@sbcglobal.net

The Ice Breaker 3D Classic will be on January 26 and 27 with two days, two clubs, and two locations. 

The first event will be on January 26 at the State Fair Archery Club in Smithton, for a cost of $12.  Watch for the signs off of Highway 50.  To sign up, call Harry Hoffert at 660-596-8545 or see the club’s page on Facebook.  The second day is January 27 for a cost of $12, at Twin Lake Bowbenders in Cole Camp.  Watch for the signs off Highway F.  Contact Frank Aiuppa at 660-624-0708 or go to www.twinlakesbowbenders.com.  Registration is 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. both days.  Shoot either or both, you must shoot both to be eligible for overall weekend scoring prizes as well as special drawings for those who shoot both days.  Binoculars are allowed, no range finders and groups of three to five only.

State Fair Community College invites members of area civic organizations to attend Civic Club Night Jan. 26 at the Roadrunner basketball games in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on campus.

Civic club members may pick up free admission passes at their club meetings.  The SFCC Booster Club also will hold its annual chili and soup supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on campus.  Meal tickets are $5 for adults and $3 or children 12 and younger and are available from Booster Club members or at the door. The price of the ticket includes soup or chili, a drink and dessert, but does not include admission to the game, which is $5 per adult and $3 per student age 12 and above. Children under 12 and people over 60 are admitted free.  SFCC will host Mineral Area College. The Lady Roadrunners will play at 5:30 p.m. and the Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m.

The Central Missouri Agriculture Club presents their annual Ag Appreciation Banquet and Pie Auction. 

It’ll be held on January 26 at the Pork Place on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  Happy hour begins at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will start at 6:30, with the pie auction following.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for children aged 7-14.  Children 6 and under get in for free.  Tickets are available at the MFA Agricenter, Farm Credit Services, University Extension Office, Jim’s Tire or Jim’s Tire Express, Taylor Insurance – Bill Taylor, or from any Ag Club Member.  For more information, call 660-473-1140

The Longwood Presbyterian Church will have a Chili and Soup Supper. 

It’ll be held on January 26 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall.  This is located four miles south of the Marshall Junction on 65 Highway, and then three miles east on State Road BB.  They’ll have home made chili, soup, or hot dogs with desserts and drinks.

The West Central Missouri Genealogical Society will have their program for January. 

It’ll be held on “When A Record is Right But Is Wrong” with Betty Harvey Williams.  The meeting will be held at the Church of Christ lower level, 722 South Maguire Street in Warrensburg.  Refreshments will be served at 7:00 p.m. with the program at 7:30 p.m.

Smokers interested in kicking their habit in 2013 can find the tools they need to be successful through Bothwell Regional Health Center’s “Freedom from Smoking” class.

The class, which follows American Lung Association curriculum, is an eight-session behavior modification program. The class will begin on Jan. 28, and meets weekly from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday evenings for seven weeks in the Bothwell Education Center, 14th and Ingram. The class costs $45.
