The American Red Cross will have a Blood Drive on Friday, July 26.

The American Red Cross, the St. Louis Cardinals and all of us here at the station are asking Sedalia to Step Up To the Plate! There’s going to be a big blood drive this Friday, July 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It’s going to be held at the Katy Depot’s Women’s Waiting Room.  Presenting donors will receive a specially designed St Louis Cardinals blood drive T-shirt, while supplies last.  Don’t forget to bring your photo I.D.

The Smithton United Methodist Church will have a Fish Fry.

The Men’s Group will host an All You Can Eat Fish Fry on Saturday, July 27 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Adults $10 and children under 7 are free.  They’ll have fried catfish, fried potatoes, baked beans, cornbread, iced tea, lemonade and water.  The event will take place at the Smithton United Methodist Church at 300 South Walnut in Smithton.

The New Bethel United Methodist Church of South 65 Highway will have an Ice Cream Social. 

It’ll take place at the church, south on 65 Highway, just south of Anderson School Road, on Saturday, July 27.  They’ll serve ice cream, cake or pie with a drink for $4 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  They’ll also have a hot dog or chili dog for an additional cost.

The Paul Klover Soccer Association will accept registration forms for the Late Summer Recreational Youth Soccer Leagues until July 31.

The teams will be formed in the first week of August.  Games begin the first week of September through mid-October.  Cost is $30 for youth not yet 8 years old by  July 31, and $60 for youth 8 to 17 years of age.  You may only register after July 31 if there are openings available and if you pay a late fee of $20.  Forms are available at Pummill’s Sporting Goods or at www.paulklover.com  For questions, please contact Paul Beard at 660-287-4117.

The Buddy Pack Program is looking for local donations.

Over 56,000 area kids can get free school lunches.  When school is out, so are their chances for a square meal.  Here’s how you can help.Give $1 or more when you shop at both Bings East and West, or the Woods in Sedalia.  Every $1 provides a meal for 12  hungry kids.  Your dollar makes all the difference!  Your donations will be accepted through August 11 for the Buddy Pack Program.
