Sedalia’s Weekend Events – Weekend of June 15

Come to the 3rd Annual running of the Knob Noster Fair 5K & Kids mile/ half mile!

It’ll begin at the Knob Noster High, 504 South Washington in Knob Noster. This event will be a great time for the entire family! Mom and Dad come run then after the 5K the kids will get their chance to show their stuff! There will be overall winner awards, age group awards and ALL KID RUNNERS will get a medal!

Bring the whole family for a day of fun in the great outdoors!

The Great Outdoors Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club. There will be something for everyone at the First Annual Great Outdoors Family Fun Day, and what better way to spend Father’s Day Weekend than at an outdoors sport show.  We’ll have 3D pop-up archery, a five-target sims shoot and a long shot competition with 50% payback, with all proceeds going to support MoNasp teams.

Activities at the The Great Outdoors Family Fun Day include:

  • Long shoot competition
  • Fishing
  • Casting Demonstrations
  • Kids’ Fishing Derby, Air Rifle Range, Archery Shoot and Other Games
  • Air Rifle Range
  • Gun Safety and CCW Information
  • Trap Shooting and Team Exhibition
  • Face Painting and Bounce Houses
  • Vendor Booths
  • Boat, ATV and Truck Exhibits

Sedalia Kiwanis Club will sponsor a child seat safety event.

The  event will be held from 10am until 2pm in the front parking lot of the main branch of Third National Bank located at 301 West Broadway. Car seat specialists with the Sedalia Police Department, the Sedalia Fire Department and the Pettis County Health Center will help parents correctly install child car safety For more information on Kiwanis One Day, contact Dave Kelley at 660-826-8218.

Sedalia will be filled on Saturday, June 15 with Patriot Guard Riders and other motorcycle groups. 

The ride will meet at the Sedalia Regional Airport at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and will start the ride at noon to the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  The event will last until 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. that night.  Events planned for the day include a motorcycle show and rodeo, rides in an Army tank and in the POW/MIA hot air balloon, and performances by two bands, including Dirty Deeds from Joplin.  The goal is to honor groups that honor military families at funerals and other events.

The Benelli Shooting Exhibition will feature Tim Bradley.

It’ll take place on June 15 and 16, at the Trap Range of the American Legion Post 217, 32739 MM Highway or Wildcat Drive in Warsaw.  It’ll begin at 3:00 p.m .on Saturday and Sunday.  This is open and free to the public.  Bring your own seating.

The Rails and Trails Car Show is coming up.

It’ll be held in Downtown Sedalia at the Maple Leaf Parking lot.  The date is on Saturday, June 15 with food, music, and fun from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  For questions, call 827-2880 or 826-8383 and ask for Chairman Terry Cockrell.   SDDI Meg Liston at 827-7388

There will be a benefit dinner and auction on Saturday, June 15. 

It’ll be at the Jaycee House in Cole Camp on June 15 at 4:30 p.m.  The Neth family needs help to support their badly burned little boy Anthony.  100% of the proceeds will go to the family to help with medical expenses.  This will be a whole hog dinner and auction, for a free will donation.  For more information, contact Andy Brockman at 660-221-7750
