Here's a look at the happenings going on this weekend! 

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary 2591 celebrates St Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 16.

They’ll begin with a cake walk at the VFW Hall, with the walks starting at 9:00 am. Minimum 10 per walk.  The parade will line up at 7th and Ohio at 9:30 a.m. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m.  All entries are welcome: bands, floats, cars, walkers, etc.  Get your entry form in by March 10th.  Special entry for kids 14 and under with bikes, scooters, pedal cars, etc.  Call Barbara at 827-3793 or the Post at 826-4543.  There will be an Irish stew and chili at the VFW Hall after the parade, donations are appreciated.  The Fundraising auction will be between 11:30 and 12:00.

The Friends of the La Monte FFA will have their Farm Toy and Tractor Sale.

It’ll take place on Saturday, March 16 at the La Monte High School Gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Admission is $2, children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.  They’ll have pedal tractors, construction, farm, cars and trucks and Nascar collectibles.  Net proceeds will benefit the La Monte FFA Chapter.  Full concessions will be available.  Call or text Carol at 660-619-3276 for more information.

Tri Lakes Fishing Club are holding several tournaments this year to raise money for Youth Projects they support in the lake area.   

They will be having a Spoonbill Tournament on March 16th and 17th with two separate paybacks. $50 a boat including big fish each day, two fish weigh in and entries taken at local ramps until 9:00 a.m.  Leave from any ramp; weigh in as Osceola City Park.  Early entries accepted.  For more information, call Paul Caruso at 417-298-9715

The Irish Blessings Breakfast and Bake Sale is coming up. 

Join the St Paul’s Lutheran School for breakfast, good company and a chance to wina  new Waterloo Toolbox.  It’ll take place on Saturday, March 16 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the gymnasium at 7th and Massachusetts.  It’s $5 a plate, and five and under eat for free.  They’ll have eggs, potato pancakes, sausage, Irish bread and more.  All proceeds will be used for youth who are attending the LCMS National Youth Gathering in San Antonio in July.

The 2nd Annual Marilyn’s Warriors Pancake Breakfast will be on Saturday, March 16.

They’ll be meeting at the Applebee’s in Sedalia on the 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and the cost is $5 a person.  Tickets are sold in advance or at the door.  All money raised goes to the Relay for Life of Pettis County to help fight cancer.

The First Christian Church will have a St Patrick’s Day Scrap event.

Come scrap with us for your pot o’ gold with the proceeds benefiting the Pettis County Museum. The event takes place at the First Christian Church, 2nd and Limit  on March 16. The time is from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  You may set up between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on March 15.  The cost is $30 for a vendor.  For more information, contact Carla at 660-221-6929 or email carlah@iland.net

The Katy Trail Clean Up will take place on March 16 beginning at 9:00 a.m the Sedalia Katy Depot.

Bring a good pair of work gloves and comfortable walking shoes.  They will provide trash bags and a pick up truck.  They’ll start at the Depot and walk to Clarendon Road.  They expect to be completed between noon and 1:00 p.m.  For more information, contact Dave Brown at 826-6172

AnimalFair will have an adoption event on Saturday.

Watch for us in the St. Patrick Parade, then come to Tractor Supply to see AnimalFAIR dogs available for adoption. We have some really great young dogs completely vetted and ready for a loving home. If you want to see our animals available go to our website, http://animalfairrescue.blogspot.com/  We’ll be at Tractor Supply Company from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on March 16.

The DCO and Cub Scout Pack 202 Chili Luncheon has been rescheduled. 

It’ll be held on Saturday, March 16 at the church, 412  from 12 noon until the food is gone.  The cost is $5, good to last bite. Thank you for your support!

St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary in Concordia will be hosting its annual benefit dinner and auction coming up on Saturday, March 16. 

The event will be held at the Holy Cross Gym in Emma.  Doors open and silent auction begins at 4:30, meal begins at 5:30, live auction begins at 7:00.  The theme this year is Hawaiian Dream and a luau buffet will be served.  For further details, visit www.stpaulsconcordia.org and view the school tab.
