Here's a look at some of our local events for this weekend! 

Sedalia Girls Softball signups are happening at Pummil’s Sporting Goods.  

Go over to the store at 2400 West 16th street for more information or a signup form. If girls sign up before March 15, the cost is $30. The ages are for those interested in t-ball through 16 & Under.

The Bi-Annual Spring Rummage Sale at Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia will be  March 7th and 8th. 

Friday, 8:00a.m.  – 7:00p.m. and Saturday 8:00a.m. – 1:00p.m. Saturday is half-price day and brown bag specials. Clothing of all sizes and a variety of household items will be for sale. Take the Concordia exit; south to the 4-way stop; go east ¼ mile on 40 Highway. Parking in the back of gym and enter into rear door of annex.

Action, adventure, and fun awaits kids age 2-7 at the Sedalia Parks and Recreation Superhero Party!

Come dressed as your favorite superhero and have fun unleashing “special powers” with superhero games, activities, and a snack topped off with a power-packed punch! The Superhero Party will be held Friday, March 7 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Space is limited so register quickly! Sign-up at the Parks Office, fees are $8 per child.

The Friends of the La Monte FFA will have their Farm Toy and Tractor Sale.

It’ll take place on Saturday, March 8 at the La Monte High School Gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   Admission is $2, children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.  They’ll have pedal tractors, construction, farm, cars and trucks and Nascar collectibles.  Net proceeds will benefit the La Monte FFA Chapter.  Full concessions will be available.  Call or text Carol at 660-619-3276 for more information.

Diversified Community Outreach and Cub Scout Pack 202 will have a Chili Luncheon on March 8. 

It’ll take place at the Ward Memorial Baptist Church at the corner of West Pettis and North Osage starting at noon and the cost is only $5.

The Smithton PTO will be hosting its annual Spring Carnival & Auction on March 08, 2014 at the Smithton School. 

The fun will begin at 3:00 pm with carnival games, bingo & silent auctions. A chili dinner will be from 3:30 to 6:30 with the basket auction starting at 7:00. Come out and support the PTO & our students. There will be lots of fun for all ages.

Tate & Kelsi Greer, a young, energetic, gospel blue grass band from Rolla, MO will be performing on the stage at the ROC. 

Tate previously traveled with his family’s band, Lindley Creek Bluegrass (they performed  at the ROC a few years ago). Admission is FREE! Maplewood Youth Group will be having a concession kitchen that night starting at 5:30 p.m. Support them by buying your supper at the concession kitchen. And then listen to some good ole tunes! Invite your family, friends, neighbors, etc! Everybody is welcome.

The 10th Annual Johnson County Volunteer Fire Auxiliary Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction will be on March 8.

It’ll be held on Johnson County Fairgrounds form 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Dinner tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for kids aged 4-12, and kids 3 and under eat for free.  There will be a giveaway for a Weatherby Magnum Rifle with wooden stocks and a custom handle leather case.  For information, call 660-909-6462
