There's a lot of great stuff going on this weekend!  Here's a reminder of everything that's fun for you and the family. 

The St Paul’s Lutheran Oktoberfest will begin October 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.T

There will be games and prizes, and the tickets for the games are twenty five cents each.  There will be a chili supper for a free will offering, and a cake walk every half hour, with desserts donated by local businesses.  Proceeds go to the St Paul’s PTL Organization to better our school.  Visit sedaliastpauls.org for any other details.

The Sedalia Heritage Day will take place at Hubbard Park on the 4th Saturday of October. 

They’ll have antique tractors, cars and trucks, a free picnic lunch at 2:00 p.m., games, music, and a parade Downtown at 11:00 a.m.  Events will take place from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the park.  To sign up for the parade or just to help out, call 826-5000 extension 922 by the last Friday of October.

The Noonday Optimist Club Haunted Hayride is coming up.

The Hayride will take place on October 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Fairgrounds, west of the Grandstands.  It’s a $5 admission for an adult, and $4 for a child, five and under ride for free.  The hayride includes a hot dog, potato chips, a drink and candy.

The American Legion Post 305 in Cole Camp will have their breakfast.

It’ll be held at the Legion Building in Cole Camp on Saturday, October 27 from 6:30 p.m. They’ll have eggs, sausage, ham, hash browns, with juice, milk or coffee.  All proceeds will go toward operating funds for the Post.  It’ll be a free will donation.

The 2nd Annual Fall Festival for Missions will take place at the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church. 

It’ll take place at the church, 407 East Spring Street in Boonville, in the Fellowship Hall.  It will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Serving Lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. and carry outs will be available.  They’ll have soup, sandwiches, desserts and drinks for a free-will donation.  They’ll also have a bazaar with many of the following items: handcrafted items, food, seasonal decorations, silent auction, “Its My Bag”, and children’s games.  The proceeds will be used to fund the various Missions of the church.

On Saturday, October 27, the Smithton United Methodist Church will have their Lords Acre Sale. 

This will be a fundraising auction and dinner.  The dinner serves from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with vegetable soup, chili, BBQ beef sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, and homemade pies and cakes.  The church is located at 300 South Walnut in Smithton.  For questions, call the Church at 660-343-5560

Ducks Unlimited will have their Banquet and Fundraiser at the Missouri Electric Co-Op Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  

It’ll start with the doors opening at 5:30, dinner at 7:00 p.m., and Live auction at 8:00 p.m.  They’ll also have a silent auction, games and more.   For tickets, call Ginny Zinick at 660 460 – 0031.

The Range Line Presbyterian Church will have a Lord’s Acre Sale and a Ham and Turkey dinner.

The Range Line Church is located fourteen miles North of Sedalia on 65 Highway to Highway CC West to Range Line road right or six miles East of Houstonia on CC to Range Line continue to Range Line church.  It’ll take place on October 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The sale starts after lunch.  Sale items include but are not limited to quilts, needlework, baked goods, canned goods, turkeys, pork products, Hammond Electric organ and 200 gallon propane courtesy of Guier Propane.  Adult tickets are $7 for adults, children 6 to 12 years of age are $5.

The Our Savior Lutheran Church at 3700 West Broadway will have a chili and soup day. 

The dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 27.  The Country Store opens at 9 a.m. The proceeds will benefit the Missions and Maintenance.  This is sponsored by the LWML and OSL Helping Hands.  Adult tickets are $5, children aged 6 to 12 are $3, and kids under 5 eat free.

The Immanuel United Church of Christ at Fourth and Vermont, will serve its 13th German Dinner. 

It’ll be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.  The meal will feature sauerbraten, German potato salad, sauerkraut and polish sausage, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade applesauce, green beans, beets, hot rolls, salads, desserts and drink.  Carryout will be available.  Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger.  Tickets at the door are $11 and $6.  There will also be a country store featuring homemade baked goods, candy and craft items and a drawing for donated items and gift certificates.   Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.  Proceeds will go to the Open Door Food Pantry, church youth programs, and church needs.  For tickets, call 826-3553.

The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art will present a free film program Oct. 27 in conjunction with its current exhibition “Remix: Selections from the International Collage Center.”

“Portrait: Joseph Cornell, May Wilson, and Ray Johnson” features three intimate film portraits of artists whose work is included in “Remix.” The films will be shown from 1-3:30 p.m. in the Stauffacher Theatre on the State Fair Community College Sedalia campus.For more information, call (660) 530-5888 or visit the Web site at www.daummuseum.org. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Sedalia Kiwanis Club will hold a Pancake Day on Saturday, October 27. 

The breakfast will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Christ and Trinity and Lutheran Church, 3201 Southwest Blvd. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, fruit, coffee and juice. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $2 for kids 6 and under. Tickets are available from any Kiwanis Club member. The Shrine Club will be hosting their 1st Inaugural Warsaw Haunted Trail.

There will be face painting, balloons and games along with the haunted trail.  The cost is $5 per person. The trail is located behind the Shrine Club at 32605 MM Hwy (Wildcat Drive) and it will be open from 7:00 p.m. to 11 p.m.  Advance tickets are available.  Call Steve at 660-723-2029 or Jeff at 660-723-3338.

The Sedalia Business Women of Missouri will have their 32nd annual Chicken Dinner. 

It will be held on Sunday, October 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shrine Multi-Purpose/Elm Hills Building,  1615 Elm Hills Blvd.  Tickets are $8 for adults, children 3-10 year of age are $4, children under three eat free.  Dessert is included.   Tickets are available from all BPW members, and available at the door.  Take out orders can call 287-0773.

The Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church will have a Chili and Soup Supper. 

It’ll be held on October 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  They’ll have chili, vegetable soup, chicken and noodles with a drink and dessert for a freewill donation.  From Sedalia, the church is located 1.25 miles west of Highway 13 on Y Highway.  From Warrensburg, the church is located 8 miles east of Highway 13 on Y Highway.

The Pettis County Historical Society will host “The Titanic Remembered” at 3 p.m. Oct. 28 at Nostalgia Vintage Apparel, 219 S. Ohio Ave.

The event will include an exhibit of Titanic memorabilia, period clothing, a program by Byron Matson, music by Darrin Hartman, a Titanic souvenir and a selection of sweets that were served on the Titanic.  The cost is $10 and a limited number of tickets are available. For reservations, call Rhonda Chalfant at 826-5592 or purchase tickets at Chelsea’s Antiques, the Fig Leaf or Furnell Insurance.
