Friends and supporters of State Fair Community College Athletics will have the opportunity to participate in the seventh annual SFCC golf tournament and auction on July 23 that benefits athletic scholarships.

The event will take place at the Sedalia Country Club, 5074 Highway Y.

The three-person scramble costs $90 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and lunch. Teams have a choice of an 8 a.m. or a 2 p.m. tee time. Mulligans will be available for $15 per team. The prizes for the golf tournament will be Sedalia Country Club Pro Shop credit.

The tournament will be divided into four flights with awards given to the top four teams in each flight based on a full field. The first place winners of each flight will receive $300 in credit; second place $200, third place $150, and fourth place $100.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals. Title sponsorship is $1,500 and includes sponsors’ name on signage on the first hole and three team entries. Scoreboard sponsorship for $750 includes signage on the 10th hole and one team entry.

Driving range sponsorship for $500 includes signage on the driving range and one team entry. Beverage cart sponsorship for $350 includes signage on the beverage cart. Hole sponsorships for $100 includes signage on the tee boxes. Personal contributions in any amount are welcomed and appreciated.

Printable team registration and sponsorship forms are available at sfccmoroadrunners.com/support/golfregistration. Teams may also register online at the same link. Checks should be made payable to the SFCC Foundation. For additional information or assistance, call SFCC Athletics at (660) 596-7232.

A live auction will start 45 minutes after the 2 p.m. round finishes for anyone who wants to support student-athlete scholarships.

“The auction last year was a great success, and we hope to have many items that will appeal to everyone in attendance,” said Darren Pannier, athletic director. “The coaches are collecting items for the auction, and the proceeds from their items will go into their sport’s scholarship fund.”

Proceeds also can fund general athletic scholarships or can be designated for a specific scholarship such as the Mike Bryson Memorial Scholarship (men and women’s soccer), the Bob Oehrke Memorial Scholarship (women’s basketball), the Kent Gwaltney Memorial Scholarship (men’s basketball), the Ross Dey Memorial Scholarship (baseball), and the Mandy Thomas Memorial Scholarship (softball).
