She is the third member of the 2017-2018 recruiting class and has signed a National Letter of Intent.

Banister is a 5’5’’ point guard from Kansas City and played at Center High School for head coach Katrina Johnigan.

As a senior, she averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and seven assists per game. Banister earned all-conference and all-district honors and was named the Jackson County Player of the Year. Throughout high school, she earned Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll recognition.

“We are extremely happy to have Sckiya in our program,” said Bucher. “She is athletic and shoots well from beyond the three-point line. I like her ability to push the ball up the floor. She comes from a very good program, and her team finished the season one game away from the final four. She had a great high school career, and we are pleased that she chose SFCC.”
