SFCC Nursing Club Presents Lybarger Scholarship

The State Fair Community College Nursing Club scholarship committee has awarded the Karen Lybarger scholarship to Lisa Simms-Weir, Jefferson City, center, for the spring semester.

Lybarger, who worked as a ward clerk at Bothwell Hospital, established the endowed scholarship for aspiring nurses. Students who apply must have a 3.0 grade point average and write an essay on the impact they hope to make in the nursing field.

Katie Hooper, Lincoln, left, Nursing Club president, and Trysten Dial, Richmond, right, Nursing Club vice president, presented the $749 award.
