SEDALIA—Basketball fans will have a chance to watch high school basketball teams from throughout the area at the 13th annual W-K Holiday Shoot-Out at State Fair Community College.

The event begins Dec. 18 and continues on Dec. 19, Dec. 20, Dec. 29, and Dec. 30 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
Admission is $5 a day for adults. Youth 12 and under are admitted free.

Dec. 18
New Franklin and Tuscumbia girls play at 4:30 p.m. and the boys at 6 p.m. Lakeland and Green Ridge girls play at 7:30 p.m. and the boys at 9 p.m. Lakeland senior Gable Dull scored 28 points in last year’s game and earned All-Tournament honors.

Dec. 19
LaMonte and Northwest girls play at 4:30 p.m. and the boys at 6 p.m. The girls’ game will feature a pair of All-Tournament team members from last season; senior Lakota Wiskur who leads Northwest and LaMonte’s junior Madison Harris.

Pilot Grove
and Sweet Springs girls play at 7:30 p.m. Senior Christiana Higgins returns to lead Sweet Springs in the girls’ contest. Higgins scored 19 points in the matchup to earn All-Tournament honors last season. The boys play at 9 p.m.

Dec. 20
Slater and Smithton girls play at 10:30 a.m. and the boys play at noon.
The Windsor and Skyline girls play at 1:30 p.m. This matchup will feature Skyline senior Ashley Bishop who scored 14 points in last year’s shoot-out to earn All-Tournament team honors. The boys play at 3 p.m.
The Santa Fe and Sacred Heart girls play at 4:30 p.m., followed by last year’s defending Class 2 state champion Gremlins against Santa Fe in a boys’ contest at 6 p.m.
The Smith-Cotton and Pleasant Hill girls play at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Smith-Cotton and Willard boys at 9 p.m. This will be the shoot-out debut for new Smith-Cotton boys’ Head Coach Brennan Scanlon.

Dec. 29
Prairie Home and Stover girls play at noon and the boys at 1:30 p.m.

Tipton
senior Ashton Pace returns to lead the Lady Cardinals against Otterville at 3 p.m. Pace scored 14 points to earn All-Tournament team honors last year. Tipton senior Dylan Cooper leads the Cardinals into the boys’ contest against Otterville at 4:30 p.m. Cooper scored 19 points last year to earn All-Tournament team honors.

Lincoln
and Concordia girls play at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.

Dec. 30
St. Elizabeth and Chilhowee girls play at 10:30 a.m.

Marshall
and Warsaw girls play at noon and the boys at 1:30 p.m.

Knob Noster
and Mack’s Creek girls play at 3 p.m. and the boys at 4:30 p.m.

Cole Camp
and Butler girls play at 6 p.m. Lady Bluebird senior Kaleena Logan will lead her team against Butler. Logan scored 16 points last year to earn All-Tournament team honors. Cole Camp and Butler boys play at 7:30 p.m.
The title sponsor of the event is W-K Chevrolet. Co-sponsors are McDonald’s, Pummill’s Sporting Goods, Chouteau Purified Water, Pepsi, Ditzfeld Transfer, BackBone of Health, Hank’s Portables and Septic Services, and Jones Brothers Marine.
Tom Knight, former athletic director at Smith-Cotton High School, came up with the idea for the shoot-out 13 years ago. SFCC hosted the first shoot-out in 2001.
