State Fair Community College Roadrunners Head Baseball Coach, Jud Kindle has announced that Tyler Cassmeyer and Brandon Eickhorst are the first two members of the 2017 recruiting class. Both have signed Athletic Aid Letters of Intent and will start at SFCC next fall.

According to a press release from State Fair Community College, Cassmeyer is a 6’3’’ right-handed pitcher from Taos, Missouri. He plays baseball at Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City for Head Coach Chris Wyrick. Cassmeyer is a two-year letterman in baseball and was named all-district as a junior.

“Tyler is a player with a big frame,” said Kindle. “He needs to work on his mechanics, but he is definitely going to be a guy who can throw in the 90s. Tyler is a great guy with a lot of potential.”

Eickhorst is a 6’2’’ right-handed pitcher from Harrisonville and plays baseball for Harrisonville High School Head Coach David Hix. Eickhorst is a two-sport standout and was twice named an all-conference selection for baseball and second team all-conference in football.

“Brandon’s arm works well, but he needs to develop that secondary pitch and add a little velocity,” said Kindle. “He has an opportunity to throw in the upper 80s and do some good things.”
