State Fair Community College Roadrunners basketball Head Coach Matt Brown has announced the addition of Tim Leavell and Dru Smith to the Roadrunners 2017-2018 recruiting class.

Leavell is a 6’1’’ guard who played at Marion High School in Marion, Indiana, for Head Coach James Blackmon Sr. As a junior, Leavell helped his team win the state championship, and as a senior, his team finished as runners-up. He holds the single-game scoring record at Marion scoring 55 points in a game.

"Tim has an exceptional ability to shoot the basketball,” said Brown. “He has played with a lot of high-quality players. I think he will be as good as any shooter we have in our conference next year.”

Smith is a 6’4’’ guard/forward from Kansas City where he played for head coach Chad Jones at Park Hill High School. Smith led his team in scoring averaging 14.5 points per game as a senior.

“Dru is a good defender who can play multiple positions,” said Brown. “He comes from a winning program and is the type of player that is hard to keep off of the floor.”
