Seven State Fair Community College students attended the state Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) leadership conference April 1 at Drury University in Springfield. Four of the students placed in various competitions.

Amber Miles, Leonard, and Sarah McAninch, Holden, placed first in the Small Business Management Plan competition and will compete at the national leadership conference in Anaheim, California, in June

Esther Stevens, Knob Noster, placed first in Desktop Publishing, and Josh Charlton, Marshall, placed fourth in the Retail Management competition. Other students who attended were Anita Bracht, Tipton; and Jessica Snell and Kaitlyn Brown, Sedalia.

The students attended workshops and participated in competitive events with students from colleges and universities throughout Missouri. PBL advisors and business instructors Becky Beydler and Amanda Stoecklein, accompanied the students.

PBL is a nonprofit education association that prepares students for careers in business and business education.
