State Fair Community College will sponsor several activities during the Roadrunner games on Jan. 17 and 20 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, will be Fan Appreciation Night, First Responders Night, and Boys and Girls Club Night. First responders (paramedics, emergency medical technicians, police officers, sheriff deputies, firefighters) and their families will get in free to the games. Boys and Girls Club members with up to two accompanying adults also will get free admission.

Throughout the evening Spirit Squad members will toss out specially designed T-shirts to the fans. At halftime of the men’s game, Head Soccer Coach Jaime Beltran will recognize the women and men’s teams for their achievements during the 2017 season.

The basketball games on Jan. 17 will be against the Greyhounds from Moberly Area Community College. The women tip off at 5:30 p.m., and the men play at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Jan. 20, the women and men Roadrunner basketball teams will autograph free team pictures. The men’s team will sign during halftime of the women’s game, and the women’s team will sign during halftime of the men’s game. In between the two games, Head Softball Coach Lyndsey Talbot and Head Baseball Coach Jud Kindle will introduce their teams. The season for both teams begins in early February.

That night at 5:30 p.m., the Lady Roadrunners will take on the Lady Vikings from Jefferson College in Hillsboro. At 7:30 p.m., the Roadrunners go up against the Reivers from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.

Admission is $5 per adult, $2 for youth ages 13-18 and free for children 12 and younger and in-district residents 60 or older. SFCC students and employees are admitted free with BLUECARDS.
