State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners sophomore guard Alexis Cowan has been named a Third-Team All-American by the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee. This is the 14th time a Lady Roadrunner has received this prestigious honor.

“Alexis was one of our leaders this year,” said head coach Kevin Bucher. “When we needed someone to step up and perform, Alexis was always there. She has had two good years here. I’m happy that she was named an All-American."

Cowan, Bolingbrook, Illinois, started all 28 games and helped the Lady Roadrunners to a 19-9 record this season. She tied for second in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, knocking down 50 percent of her attempts and led in scoring averaging 12.4 points per game. She shot 76.2 percent from the free-throw line, was third on the team in assists averaging 2.3 per game and pulled down 3.5 rebounds per game.

This season Cowan earned NJCAA Region 16 First-Team honors and was named Player of the Week twice by Region 16 coaches. She also was named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference First-Team.
