She received the award for the week of February 20-26. Oakes is the third Lady Roadrunner to earn the honor, which is new this season.

Oakes, a Detroit native, helped SFCC win a pair of Region 16 games over Jefferson College and Mineral Area College. She scored a team-high 17 points against Jefferson while shooting 44 percent from beyond the three-point arc and 78 percent from the free-throw line.

Against Mineral Area College, she scored 18 points, pulled down four rebounds and had two assists and one steal. The win locked up the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference Championship for SFCC. Oakes averaged 17.5 points while playing 22.5 minutes per game for the week.

"Ahjana has been playing well ever since we put her in the starting lineup," said head coach Kevin Bucher. "She has raised the level of her game and has become the player I expected her to be."
