On Saturday night, Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz got so upset after striking out that he smashed a dugout phone.

Ortiz was then ejected from the game and threw home-plate umpire Tim Timmons some choice words on his way out. He then absolutely demolished a phone in the dugout with his bat.

Lots of players get upset with an umpire's call from time to time, but in this case it wasn't even a crucial at-bat for Ortiz or the Red Sox. By smashing the dugout phone, he also put his teammates in a little bit of danger. (Dustin Pedroia was seated nearby and had to dive away from shattered phone.) Should there be consequences for Ortiz's actions?
