Robert Roy “Bob” Stapley, 68
Robert Roy “Bob” Stapley, 68 of La Monte, passed away May 19, 2013 at St. Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute. He was born in Sedalia, on March 31, 1945, the son of Ellis and Mildred (De Lapp) Stapley. On December 26, 1965 in Bradenton, FL, he was united in marriage to Peggy Eason, who survives of the home. He served his country honorably in the US Army in Vietnam (1965-1967) as a teletype operator in C Co. 36th Sig. Bat. handling communications for the 9th Inf Div. at, Long Thaun North, Vietnam.

The High Chair
On cold winter mornings I sometimes think back to when I was a small child sitting in front of an old wood cook stove. In that memory, I am sitting in the handmade wooden high chair my grandfather Wickliffe built just for me. Mom always pulled it up close to the stove where I would be warm, and she could give me some attention between stirring the gravy and flipping the eggs.

Regina M. Schuber, 85
Regina M. Schuber, 85, of Sedalia, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born June 14, 1927, in Wichita, KS, a daughter of the late Sherman and Mary (Kennedy) Pritchard. On June 9, 1948, in Windsor, she married Paul J. Schuber, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1987.
