The CPIFL Championship is set. Last weekend, the Wichita Wild defeated the Omaha Beef 31-25 and the Salina Bombers upset the Sioux City Bandits 29-28. The Wichita Wild will host the Salina Bombers this Saturday, June 22 at 7:05 p.m.

Patriot Guard Summer Rally Held at Missouri State Fairgrounds [PHOTOS]

Sedalia hosted many bikers on Saturday (June 15) for a special salute to the Patriot Guard Riders. State Representative and Chairman of the Missouri House Veterans Committee Charlie Davis organized the Patriot Guard Summer Rally to show appreciation for the riders who honor military families at funerals, participate in parades and support the military.

KSIS Satellites Hit By Storm, Broadcasting 92.3 BOB-FM Until Repairs Are Made

Saturday night's storms caused some damage to our satellite and satellite receivers that we use to provide our news/talk programming on the weekend. Our engineers have been working to fix the satellite and receiver.  In the meantime, we are simulcasting 92.3 BOB-FM on Newstalk 1050 KSIS.

What Unique Foods Would You Like to See in Sedalia Restaurants? [SURVEY]

This week Dale Malone from Dukes & Boots posed a question on Facebook about what new foods you'd like to see on the menu. This last Wednesday at lunch, a bunch of our staff got together for the KIX 105 Wednesday lunch and discussed some of the great things that could be brought to the table. Our Events Coordinator Leslee is currently going through the Healthy U Program and we started talking about how it would be interesting if a bar and grill took a healthy way of thinking, one that would surprise people that it was on the menu and would still be unique to Sedalia.

Doug Says Goodbye To the Beard at Dick’s Barber Shop [PHOTOS]

Today was the end of the beard-growing fun for me. People kept asking me if the beard was growing on me, and while it may have been growing, it is definitely not for me. I kept the beard for some family photos during my nephew's graduation, and then Harry from Huntin' and Fishin' with Harry said last week that he'd get a lot of people calling into the station to get me to have him trim my beard with his hunting knife. All I can say is that Harry may be great at hunting, fishing and carving, but the things he carves on are dead and I am quite alive. I gave it this weekend and then decided it was time for the beard to go. It has been over two weeks since the Detroit Red Wings lost in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so it was time for me to lose some hair weight. Harry and Kaleb Filis both gave me a great idea: get a straight edge shave. I had never done that before, but heard it had an amazing feel.
