The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners have signed twin sisters Sierra and Seara Clayborn for the 2014-2015 season.

They played four years of varsity basketball for Head Coach Elliot Whitefield at Evanston Township High School in Evanston, Ill, and helped their team to a 22-8 record during their senior campaign. They will join former high school teammates Alecia Cooley and Erin Boothe at SFCC this fall.

Sierra is a 5-7 guard who averaged 11 points, four assists, three steals, and three rebounds per game as a senior. She was named to the Central Suburban League All-Conference team as a junior and a senior and also twice earned All-Tournament team honors at the Dondee Crown Christmas Tournament. Sierra was named team captain as a junior and senior and also earned Most Valuable Player honors as a senior.

“Sierra brings a lot of athleticism to our program,” said Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “She will fit very well into our style of play, along with Seara.”

Seara is a 5-9 guard who averaged 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game during her senior campaign. She earned Central Suburban League All-Conference honors and All-Tournament team honors at the Dondee Crown Christmas Tournament as a senior. Both players were on the academic honor roll.

“Seara is another athletic player,” said Bucher. “She made 13 three-point shots in one game and will add consistent three-point shooting ability, which we need. I think this will be the first time in my coaching career that I have had four young ladies from the same high school team.”
