It doesn't seem possible but in four weeks the Black and Gold kicks off another season of football at the Jennie Jaynes Complex at Smith-Cotton High School.

The season begins under the lights on the last Friday of the Missouri State Fair. The Tigers kick off the schedule as they host the Moberly Spartans.

New Tigers' Head Coach Charlie McFail will host six games this year and will be on the road for four. After finishing with a 5-6 record in 2016, McFail starts his new head coaching duties with a clean slate, and is looking to improve in the conference standings and looks forward to advancing in district play.

Along with West Central Conference opponents Warrensburg, Pleasant Hill, Nevada, St. Michael Catholic High School, (formerly O'Hara) Clinton and Center, the two non-conference games this year include Moberly and Marshall.

This is the last year of Smith-Cotton being in the West Central Conference. After the 2017 season, the Tigers will be looking for new opponents for next year's sports schedule.

All the 2017 football games will be carried on 92.3 BOB-FM, a member of Townsquare Media.
