However, the Warriors got out to an early lead and controlled the ball in the second half in posting a 5-1 win Tuesday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.

The Warriors scored first, but S-C's Elizabeth Matz responded with a goal a few minutes later to make the score 1-1. St. Pius sent home scores on two corner kicks to make the halftime score 3-1.

The Lady Tigers (4-2, 2-1 WCC) play Thursday at Clinton.

In the JV game played afterwards, Harlie West scored the lone goal to give S-C a 1-0 win in a game shortened by lightning. The Lady Tigers JV squad is now 8-0.

And on Monday, the Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers soccer team defeated Bishop O'Hara, 5-1, at Tiger Stadium.

The Lady Tigers' goals were scored by Elizabeth Matz (2), Marilyn Ream (2), and Jessica Coble. Assists by Bri Pollitt, Tay Williams and Marta Treuner.
