In closed session on Monday, January 28, 2013, the Board of Education of the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Jason Curry to be the Smith-Cotton Jr. High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year.  In addition to hiring Curry, the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Wade Norton to be the Smith-Cotton High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year as well.

Curry has been the Assistant Principal at Smith-Cotton Jr. High School for the past four years. Prior to that, he was a Health and Physical Education teacher at Smith-Cotton High School and Head Soccer Coach.  Curry received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Central Missouri and his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from William Woods University. Mr. Curry is a Smith-Cotton High School graduate.

Prior to becoming the Principal at Smith-Cotton Jr. High School for the past two years, Norton was the Principal for five years at Heber Hunt Elementary, Principal at Skyline Elementary for three years, and an elementary teacher at Skyline Elementary for six years.  He is a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School who holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and an Education Specialist degree, both from William Woods University.
