Smith-Cotton High School celebrated the success of its JROTC program on Friday, as members of the battalion’s unarmed drill team received national championship rings. The team competed in April at the National High School Drill Team Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Tiger Battalion took first place in platoon inspection, platoon exhibition and color guard, and was fifth in platoon regulation to earn the overall championship.
