Smith-Cotton Students at ‘Gateway 2 Change’

Smith-Cotton High students, from left, Joseph Weller, Margarita Antonova, Saige Peterson, Jaden Kendrick, Terrence Callaway, Jada Ward, Ramiro Rodriguez and Zion Buckner, along with counselor Katie Ellis, participate Tuesday in the third year of the Gateway2Change program, held at Ritenour High School in St. Louis.

Gateway2Change brings together student leaders to discuss social and cultural differences that exist in schools and communities, and engages them in activities to bring about positive changes.

S-C Principal Wade Norton said, "Conversations about race aren't easy but they are needed for students' futures to be better than today."
