Smith-Cotton dominated the pool Wednesday afternoon, taking first in a five-team meet at Truman High School in Independence.

The Tigers racked up 614 points, while Truman finished second with 490, followed by Marshall (159), Van Horn (37) and William Chrisman (22).

Jeremy Acosta and Joshua Osorio let the Tigers, each winning two events and swimming on two first-place relays. Acosta won the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, and Osorio won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke; they were joined by Felix Sultanov and Mitchell Lake on the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Isaiah McNeal won the one-meter diving event, with Sultanov taking second and Peyton Camirand finishing the sweep for S-C.

Jared Baker was second and Lake was third in the 50-yard freestyle, Lake was second in the 100-yard backstroke, Sultanov was second and Mike Husyev was third in the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard freestyle relay team (Baker, Vlad Husyev, Mike Husyev, Andriy Usyk) was second.
