The Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers lost, 52-42, Friday night at O'Hara in Kansas City. 

"The defensive effort was outstanding with zone in the first half and man in the second, including some man press," said S-C Coach Jonathan Tester.

S-C was led in scoring by seniors Kiara Williams with 12 points and Jessica Coble with 7. Freshmen Sophie Martin and Haley Wiskur contributed 6 each. Junior Darby Christian led the team in rebounding with 6.

S-C now stands at 4-9. Varsity next plays at home during the S-C McDonalds Classic Jan. 18-21.

And O'Hara beat the Smith-Cotton boys, 61-46, Friday night in Kansas City.

The Tigers kept it close early, trailing by just three points, 26-23, at halftime. But the Celtics built a 10-point lead in the third quarter.

S-C was led by senior Zion Buckner with 15 points. Bryson Couch added 10 and Keoni Hale had 9.
