Smith-Cotton Volleyball Loses, Eight-Grade Football Wins on Tuesday

The Smith-Cotton Junior High eighth grade football team defeated Clinton, 38-16, on Tuesday in Clinton. Chase McMillin had a touchdown reception, two rushing TDs and an interception return for for a TD for the Tigers. Kain Young added a rushing TD for S-C.

The Smith-Cotton volleyball team lost a West Central Conference matchup Tuesday at St. Pius X in Kansas City. The Warriors won 25-9, 25-11. S-C Coach Chad Harter said, "The scoreboard did not tell the story of (the Lady Tigers') effort. We had 49 swings, attacking the ball as a team ... (and) displaying solid defense on both sides of the court." Tori Jacobi led S-C with three kills and Taylor Burlingame had 14 digs. The Lady Tigers' next game is Thursday at home vs Rock Bridge.
