Smith-Cotton Wrestlers Getting In Off-season Work

Smith-Cotton wrestling head coach Eric McNeal has been offering open mat times each morning for the past couple of weeks at the high school to allow athletes to get in some work over the summer.

The sessions are focused on strategy and technique, focusing on thinking about scoring and takedown opportunities and executing moves and holds properly.

On Tuesday morning, senior Blake Pomajzl, a three-time state qualiifier, and junior Trent Johnson worked with McNeal, who said he has had as many as 15 wrestlers come in some mornings.
