The Soccer Gremlins opened up Kaysinger Conference Tournament play with a 2-1 win over the Smithton Tigers on Tuesday.

After giving up a goal in the first two minutes of the game, the Gremlins rallied back with two first half goals. Smithton threatened with a penalty kick at the end of the first half, but a diving save by Keeper Easton Webb preserved the lead.

The second half saw both teams threaten with scoring opportunities but the Gremlin’s defense held the Tigers scoreless and held it’s one goal advantage to the final whistle. Francisco Rojas assisted on both goals of the night.

Sam Bello scored his 5th goal of the season at the 32nd minute of the first half. Dylan Elwood scored his 3rd goal of the year at the 18th minute.

The Gremlins are now 7-8 and played Stover (2-8) Wednesday.
