Sondra Joy Ferguson, 57, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born May 12, 1957, in Clinton, MO, daughter of Gene Arthur Ferguson and Julia Lee Ferguson Scott. Having survived a brain tumor at the age of 5, Sondra was faced with a very challenging life that she embraced with great courage and faith. She was a 1976 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School.

Survivors include her mother, Julia Ferguson Scott, of Cole Camp; her father and step-mother, Gene and Charlene Ferguson, of Sedalia; two sisters, Paula Fischer (Dan), of Sedalia, and Shauna Ferguson, of Kansas City; three brothers, Patrick Ferguson (Connie), of Sedalia, Bradley Kent Ferguson (Betty), of Colorado Springs, CO, and Marty Ferguson (Kim), of Smithton; a step-sister, Julie Hardy, of Green Ridge; a step-brother, Kevin Zimmerschied (Missy), of Green Ridge; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marion and Marie Barnes, Glen Ferguson, and Josephine Ferguson Naylor.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chad McMullin officiating.

Casket bearers will be Marty Ferguson, Kevin Zimmerschied, Dan Fischer, Jeremy Pyle, Charles Barnes and Shawn West.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
