Southeast Missouri Man Sentenced To 35 years In Prison For Driving Into Relatives
SIKESTON, Mo. (AP) — A southeast Missouri man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for driving into a crowd of his relatives at a family barbecue, killing one man and injuring five others. Twenty-seven-year-old Joseph Thornton was sentenced after pleading guilty in the death of Jeremy Johnson. Police say Thornton became upset after he was asked to leave the April 2013 gathering.
