On Sunday (Feb 25), Sedalia Police checked on a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Summit. Officers reportedly located a man sleeping inside the vehicle. Investigation revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The suspect, 21-year old Deandre L. Laney, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. At the jail, a search of Laney's property, reportedly turned up two baggies of methamphetamine in his wallet. Laney was placed on a twenty-four hour hold pending the filing of various drug-related charges.


On Saturday (Feb 24), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a truck that did not have a license plate. According to the police report, the driver had two Pettis County warrants. The driver, 38-year old Kimberly S. Ballenger, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a total bond of $650.


On Friday (Feb 23), Sedalia Police observed a man in the area of 3rd Street and Massachusetts Ave, whom officers knew had an outstanding Pettis County warrant for failure-to-appear. Police arrested the suspect, 48-year old Marc L. Head, and transported him to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $250.


On Sunday (Feb 25), Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of W. 5th Street. According to the report, a 1998 gold-colored Toyota Camry had been taken while it was parked at a residence in the 500 block of N. Osage Ave. A witness stated the vehicle was seen on a flat-bed trailer that was leaving the area on Feb. 24. At this time, there are no further details.
