Springfield Police Officer Shot

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A Springfield police officer is hospitalized after being shot. Authorities say the officer was responding to a "check person" call in north Springfield this morning when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the officer. Police Captain Greg Higdon says the suspect fled and has not been apprehended.
