Stanley D. Gant, 73, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Rest Haven Convalescent Home, Sedalia. He was born on November 6, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Virgil and Gladys (Locke) Gant.
Stanley loved going to Lake of the Ozarks and fishing. He enjoyed visiting Civil War battle grounds and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by three children, Mitch Gant of Sedalia, Mitzi Killion and her husband Chris Frye of Sedalia, Marci Sekutra and her husband Kim of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Charles Gant and his wife Janet of Otterville, Daniel Gant and his wife Deborah of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren, Justin, Bruce, Jared, and Erica; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William “Bill” Gant.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Ed Broyles officiating.
Honorary bearers will be Mike Millsap, Gary Gant, and Glen Gant.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
