State Fair Community College Offers Summer Enrichment Classes

SEDALIA—State Fair Community College’s LearningForce will offer a variety of enrichment classes beginning in mid-June.

• Mailings: Address Book, Labels and Mail Merge will meet from 7-9 p.m. June 16 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 229. Participants will learn how to use features in Word and Excel to create letters individually addressed to each recipient on an address list and how to organize the list to include envelopes for mailing. Participants need basic Excel skills and an Excel address list. Cost is $39; instructor is Vern Haynes III.

• Pinterest Day Out! will meet from 1-5 p.m. June 20 in Stauffacher Center, Room 37. Treat yourself to a Saturday out and make a Pinterest-inspired item to take home. All materials are provided. Cost is $29, plus a $7 materials fee due in class; instructor is Mary Kindle.

• Yoga classes will meet from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks beginning June 25 in Hopkins Student Services Center, Room 714, and from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks beginning June 25 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 255. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat or rug. Cost is $39 for each four-week session; instructor is Irene Renauld.

• Motorcycle Basic Rider Course will meet June 26-28 on the Sedalia campus. The class meets from 6-10 p.m. Friday in the Automotive Technology Building, Room 609, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The course is geared toward beginning or re-entry riders and has a list of requirements. Cost is $199; instructors are certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program.

• Missouri Concealed Carry is a comprehensive training experience in pistol safety, operations, mental preparation, and firearms law. It is at least 10 hours long and includes classroom and range time. This class will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or until finished on Saturday, June 27, in Fielding Technical Center, Room 209. Cost is $99 plus a $10 materials fee payable at the first class. Instructor is Bill Chapman. This class also may be arranged to accommodate a time convenient for the student.
