State Fair Community College’s 'The Learning Force' will offer beekeeping classes for anyone interested in learning about bees and their importance to the environment or establishing a new hobby or business.

According to a press release from SFCC, “Introduction to Beekeeping” will meet from 6-8 on Thursday evenings, for eight weeks beginning January 12, 2017, in the Potter-Ewing Agriculture Building, Room 400, on the Sedalia campus. The course covers basic principles of beekeeping and its role in maintaining the food supply. Students will learn the skills needed to be a hobbyist beekeeper. The cost is $79.00

“Advanced Beekeeping” will meet from 6-8 on Thursday evenings, for eight weeks beginning March 23, 2017, in Potter-Ewing, Room 400. This course teaches how to obtain bees and set up and manage several beehives. The cost for this class is also $79.00.
