State Fair Community College has hired Sedalian Mary Treuner as executive director of the SFCC Foundation. She will begin work April 1.

Treuner has been an adjunct instructor of public speaking at the college since 2011. She has been a member of the foundation board since 2006 and has served as vice president since 2010.

“Mary’s familiarity and history with the foundation, the college and the community are wonderful assets,” said Dr. Marsha Drennon, SFCC president. “This understanding, along with her leadership skills, will ensure that the foundation remains strong and continues to support the college in serving students and our communities.”

Treuner is president of the Sedalia Middle School Parent Teacher Association and former president of the Heber Hunt Elementary School PTA. In the past she held offices on the boards of Citizens Against Spouse Abuse, the Children’s Therapy Center and the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1997 she received the chamber’s William H. Hopkins Volunteer of the Year award.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication in 1992 from Central Missouri State University and an Associate of Arts degree in 1990 from SFCC. She is a 1987 graduate of Green Ridge High School.

The SFCC Foundation was established in 1981 and supports the mission of the college. Today, with assets of more than $8 million, the foundation manages more than 50 endowed scholarships and funds that provide financial support for scholarships, special projects, facilities, and professional development for employees.
