Student Transfer System Plan Moves To Governor Jay Nixon

UNDATED (AP) — A plan to fix Missouri's flawed student transfer system will head to Governor Jay Nixon. The current transfer law requires struggling districts to pay tuition for students to switch to better-performing schools and has caused a financial hardship for some. The bill would accredit schools by building. Students in failing schools could first transfer to accredited buildings within their district.
