Suzanne Marie Uelk, 60, of rural Cole Camp, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.  She was born on November 21, 1954, at Quebec City, Canada, a daughter of David and Helen (Fahey) Comerford.

She graduated from Cor Jesu High School in St. Louis and later from St. Louis University.

On December 30, 1976, at St. Louis, she was united in marriage to Stephen D. Uelk.  This union was blessed with two children, Laura and Timothy.

Sue was a member of Brauersville Lutheran Church, rural Cole Camp.  She had worked as a medical technologist and was a middle school teacher for the Afton School District in St. Louis.  She enjoyed being outdoors and volunteering at Sagrada Bible Camp, Show-Me Bible Camp, and Brauersville Youth Group.

She is survived by:
her husband, Stephen Uelk of the home;
daughter, Laura Simpson of St. Louis;
son, Timothy Uelk and his wife Romy of St. Louis;
sisters-in-law, Judy (Jim) Brennan, Susan (Roy) Evers, Vicky (Ron) Edwards, Gina (Ed) Merenda, and Melissa (Bud) Smith;
brothers-in-law, John (Marjie) Uelk, and Harvey Uelk; and
four grandchildren, Bradon Cole, Abbie and Steven Simpson, and Lena Uelk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Helen Comerford, a brother, Robert Comerford, and brother-in-law, Vincent Uelk.

A prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp, with Pastor Gary Wahlers officiating and visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Sagrada Bible Camp in care of the funeral home.
