The royal baby isn't the only newborn who was on display this month.

Kids, I was lucky in that I was able to host the Smithton Baby Contest last year. I was so happy that they asked me back again this year. We had the big contest on Saturday night at the old gym of the Smithton School.

Jacob and Sophia are not a couple in the latest movie adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, but they may be soon at this rate.

What’s in a name?

If you are a SFCC fan, you know that Coach Kevin Thomas and his wife Taylor have been expecting twins.  Taylor was due in the middle of March, but the babies had different ideas and were born this Monday morning (Feb 4.) in Columbia, where Taylor had been on bed rest for awhile.

The holidays might be winding down, but that doesn't mean we can put our feet up and slip into a post-festivities food coma just yet. T-minus three days until New Year's Eve, and you know what that means-- it's time to get your party on!

Call it the "baby bust." For the fourth straight year, birth rates in the United States have declined. Slightly fewer than four million babies were born in the U.S. in 2011, the lowest total since 1998. However, the 1 percent drop in the birth rate was less than it had been in the previous three years. This suggests that the economic pressure experts believe is depressing the birth rate

Babies can be exhausting enough during the day, but when they cry throughout the night the so-called bundles of joy can leave their parents cranky and depressed.
