The fall 2014 TV season has been dominated by the arrival of superhero series like 'Gotham,' 'The Flash' and more, and CBS is about to have a 'Super' new addition to the team. Following its initial announcement, the 'Supergirl' TV series has officially landed at CBS with a full series commitment, focusing on the tale of Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin.

Whereas CBS' decision to not move forward with 'HIMYM' spinoff 'How I Met Your Dad' proved pretty surprising, the fate of 'Two and a Half Men' was long overdue. The Ashton Kutcher comedy will indeed return for season 12 this fall, though the network finally confirmed that one of Chuck Lorre's flagship vehicles will come to a merciful end with a series finale thereafter.

Well, this is something of a surprise. Uncertain though we were at the prospect of 'How I Met Your Mother' living in on in the gender-flipped sequel series 'How I Met Your Dad,' it seems CBS has defied expectation to opt against picking up the series at least for now.
