The Sedalia Area Farmers' Market has become a tradition in our area. We're surrounded by people and places that thrive in agricultural subjects, and our local growers are some of the best. If you want the best in fresh, local food and produce, you can't beat the Farmers' Market.
The Fruit Club made a stop in Sedalia at North 65 Cafe last weekend to deliver fresh, hand-picked Georgia peaches. The Fruit Club offers seasonal fruit from only the best orchards in the United States. This month they brought peaches hand-picked the night before and driven on a semi truck from Fort Valley, Ga. to Sedalia.
Today I had two of the members of the Sedalia Area Farmer's Market board in to tell us about the different options you have to get fresh food for your family. Brenda Raetz and Beverly Rollings came in and told us some info you might not know about the SAFM.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the small watermelons and grapes the stores are stocking now?
A few years ago big watermelons and globe grapes were everywhere, as were those big South African black grapes that had such good taste...
