Woman’s Last Wish to Euthanize Her Dog and Bury It With Her

I know many of you are animal lovers and treat your dog or cat as a member of the family. I know I'm very pet friendly and can't remember a very long period of time without one. This morning, I read this story of a woman who had died as a result of cancer at the age of 68. She requested that her guide dog be buried with her. I'm thinking that sounds like a good request that when a person dies, they would like whenever their dog or cat dies to be buried with the owner. However, that is not what was requested. She had her guide dog euthanized and buried with her for her funeral.

Recently I received word of the death of 15-year old Ceaira Walker, from my old hometown of Knob Noster.   While I never had the chance to know her personally, she definitely caught the attention of many in recent months, and I do know many from Knob who were profoundly impacted by her life and her never give up spirit.

Community Members Pay Tribute to Librarian Lynn Phillips During Funeral Procession [PHOTOS]

The funeral for Lynn Phillips was held at the Celebration Center in Sedalia this morning (May 31).  Former students, parents and community members gathered along the east side of Highway 65 to honor the Skyline librarian by holding up children's books as the procession passed.  The tribute was organized by the Sedalia School District.

Touching Tribute Planned for Skyline Librarian Lynn Phillips

The Sedalia School District plans to have a tribute to their librarian, Lynn Phillips, who lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, May 26. They are asking students, past and present and anyone else who would like to line the east side of Highway 65 holding a children's book as the processional passes on Thursday, May 31. They ask that you be in place by 11:15 a.m.
