In closed session on Monday, January 28, 2013, the Board of Education of the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Jason Curry to be the Smith-Cotton Jr. High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year.  In addition to hiring Curry, the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Wade Norton to be the Smith-Cotton High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year as well.

The W-K Holiday Shootout has become a tradition in this area over the past few years.  The tournament started in 2001 by Tom Knight and Darren Pannier as an idea to get local area schools all in one location to play a basketball tournament.

The Kaysinger All Conference Football team for the 2012 season has been announced.  Congratulations to the young men who were selected.  It was a tremendous season for local high school football. I had fun calling and watching many of these young athletes on the field.

Two Arizona teenagers faced a choice after getting into a fight at Westwood High in Mesa: They could either be suspended for nine days ... or hold hands in front of everybody. Obviously, they chose the latter, and now the school is catching flak for it.
