Independence Day

The Sedalia Parks and Recreation Department will be taking over 4th of July fireworks duties in the city.

City of Sedalia offices will be closed July 4th to observe Independence Day, and the city trash collection schedule will be slightly adjusted for the week.

We're pretty lucky this year, in that our Independence Day Holiday will not only be on a Friday, but we'll have great weather! Whatever the weather, you should definitely make plans to attend the Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration.

Everyone looks forward to Independence Day.  Fireworks, music, history, great food and friendship.. it's all there.

One of the biggest holidays of the summer is coming up this week.  There are lots of people out there already making plans and preparations for our nation's Independence Day.

2015 is looking like the Nerd singularity, when we'll see such films as 'The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron,' 'Jurassic World,' 'The Fantastic Four,' 'Batman Vs. Superman,' 'Terminator 5,' 'Ant-Man,' the new James Bond, 'Warcraft' and 'Star Wars: Episode 7' all hitting the big screen. But one big title has decided to hold off until 2016: 'Independence Day 2.'

You can celebrate freedom and reasonable prices this Independence Day.
